I was lucky enough to photograph one of my favorite families in the whole world last week. This weekend we had a horrible Nor'easter pass through Jacksonville and of course I had sessions scheduled all weekend. This maternity session went back and forth all day on Saturday as to whether we were going to re-schedule. At our session time, it was pouring!!! One of my favorite things to shoot is every-day life...so I was super excited when I was asked to come by one morning to capture some pictures of the real-life happenings of the M Family. Newborns are a little tricky. The rule of thumb is you take newborn pics between 5-10 days old because they are so sleepy. Well Mr. B was going to teach us a lesson about assuming we know anything about newborn behavior, lol! He was a perfect angel...and I mean that, no crying or fussing. It's hard to believe it's been a year since I met Miss L's Mom to take her maternity pictures! Mr. L was my very first member of the Baby's first year program I started last year...and this week he celebrates his first birthday!!! Last month she wanted to stand up and hold on to things, this month she stands all by herself and if you hold her hand, she will just start walking and not stop!!! We are a family of routines...Mike was after all, in the Navy for 5 years :) We have had the same bedtime routine for years. I am an equal opportunity Mom, lol. I can't say that I don't secretly love the fact that Bella gets jealous when I do a shoot with Preston...cause when I get to her turn, she really tries to out-photo him :) In fact, she directed this entire shoot.
